Stock Availability, Lead Times & Ordering Information
We understand how important it is to receive your items on time. While we aim to keep key products available, stock levels ultimately depend on suppliers, distributors, publishers, and manufacturers.
1. How Our Stock Model Works
Many of our products are sourced directly from suppliers once orders are confirmed. This sourcing model allows us to offer a broad range of items, but it also means availability can fluctuate depending on supplier stock levels and production schedules.
2. Why Items May Be Out of Stock
Stock shortages may occur due to:
- Supplier or manufacturer stock depletion
- Import, shipping, or port delays
- Mid-year or scheduled reprint cycles
- Minimum print-run thresholds not yet met
- Unexpected increases in demand
- Operational or logistics factors beyond our direct control
3. Textbooks & Publisher Reprint Cycles
Textbooks and academic materials are published under specific ISBN numbers and are licensed to particular publishing houses. If a title is out of stock at the publisher level, distributors and retailers nationwide are affected.
Many publishers operate on scheduled reprint cycles or only proceed with reprinting once sufficient national demand has accumulated. This can create temporary stock gaps during the year, including mid-year, while production is underway.
Where a textbook is on reprint, orders are placed on backorder with the publisher or distributor and will be fulfilled as soon as stock becomes available.
4. Backorders & Reservation of Stock
If an item is temporarily unavailable, your order may be placed on backorder. This secures your position within the supplier queue, and stock is allocated to your order once it arrives.
Estimated arrival timeframes will be communicated where available. Please note that these remain estimates and are subject to supplier confirmation.
5. Version & ISBN Verification
Where alternative suppliers are considered, customers should verify that the ISBN or product code matches exactly. Titles may appear similar but differ by edition, curriculum update, or format. We recommend confirming ISBN numbers before cancelling or replacing an order.
6. Back-to-School Peak Season (October to January)
The Back-to-School period is one of the busiest supply cycles of the year. Demand for textbooks and stationery increases significantly, and stock can sell out quickly at supplier and publisher level.
December and January are peak procurement months. High national demand, combined with supplier holiday shutdowns and publisher reprint schedules, often results in temporary stock shortages and extended lead times.
- Many suppliers close for annual shutdown between mid-December and early-to-mid January.
- During this period, replenishment may not be possible until suppliers reopen.
- Courier and logistics networks operate under heavy volume and may experience delays.
- Publishers may be out of stock nationally while reprints are in progress.
To maximise the likelihood of receiving your full order before the academic year begins, we strongly recommend placing Back-to-School orders on or before 30 November.
Orders placed after 30 November are considered peak-period or late-season orders and may be subject to extended supplier lead times and backorders.
7. Estimated Dispatch Timeframes
Dispatch estimates displayed on product pages are based on standard supplier turnaround times and should be treated as guidelines rather than guaranteed deadlines.
While we actively monitor supplier performance and stock levels, we cannot guarantee completion dates where stock is subject to reprint, supplier shutdowns, or manufacturer delays.
8. Our Commitment
We prioritise the completion of every order and understand the importance of timely delivery. While certain supply factors are outside our control, we work proactively with suppliers and distributors to minimise delays wherever possible.
